Certification Process

1. First Stage (For Certain Certification Only)

First Stage Assessment (FSA) confirms feasibility of the management systems for Certification Audit. FSA defines audit program, re-assure the organization structure, purpose and scope of certification, applicable standard for audit, auditing team manpower involved, audit date and schedule and readiness of the management system.

2. Certification Audit (CA)

Certification Audit (CA) covers all core functions of an organization based on sampling approach. Audit result will be reported to client during closing meeting. To fulfill the validity of certification audit within at least 3 months records. During Certification Audit, auditors will verify the implementation of management system, which is in accordance with the standard specification, AKS Regulations and other relevant internal or external requirements.

3. Certification Approval

When successful completion of Certification Audit, Auditors will consolidate audit results and submit the audit report to AKS for approval of certificate issuance. Validity of the Certification is 3 years. Routine Surveillance Visits (SV) will be conducted in due course to assure certificate maintenance and continuous improvement. A Reassessment will be carried out before the Certificate expires.

4. Surveillance Visit (SV)

Surveillance Visit (SV) is at Sample audit of system. It check on compliance and continual improvement and use of Logo. The frequency of SV depends on the stability and maturity of the management system.

5. Reassessment (REA)

Reassessment is similar to certification audit but will less assessor day. It will be carried out before the certificate expires.

Impartiality and Independence

AKS insists on the integrity of the certification process and implements a management system which is complying with requirements illustrated in applicable ISO/IEC standards and those described in relevant IAF documents, and IAS supplementary criteria in maintaining certification impartiality. Every application has to go through an equally stringent certification process and by a fair and objective assessment, independence and impartiality is demonstrated.
